Interstate Love Song, album: Purple.

A great theme and hit from Stone Pilots, using  powerful chords and riffs, despite the origin of its lyirics: sadness, dissapointment.

Single.

From the album: Purple.

Release date: September 9, 1994.

Composser:  Robert DeLeo.

Songwriter: Scott Weiland.

Taking inspiration of his problems at that time, among them, with his addiction and his girlfriend, Weiland wrote the lyrics of this song, using themes such as trust, betrayal, and so on. A fact about the writing process, is that Weiland wrote it from the P.O.V of his then girlfriend.

Insterstate Love Song starts with a tranquil rhythm , resembling to a balad, but, suddenly, it turns into a more agressive and powerful chords and progession on its rhythm, with memorable riffs, that you will imitate them playing with your broom. Weiland´s lyrics are deep;  they´re about his relationship and lack of trust, betrayal, lies, where the best option is just say goodbye. The time passes by so fast, while you´re listening to his masterpiece, that once it ends, you´ll wish it could last forever.

OUTCOME:

For the deepness on its lyrics, musical arrangements and riffs, Interstate Love Song  it´s a masterpiece you have to listen to, no matter your mood, because with the power of its music, you´ll feel with energy to do whatever you want. A great masterpiece, which Weiland gave to us.
