After the release of Jurassic Park III, a fourth film was planned for a 2005 release. Nonetheless, issues in the script development, postponed the project nearly a decade. Based on a Spielberg idea about a "functional park of dinosaurs", Connolly and Trevorrow began writing the final draft of the script. Filming took place in 2014, for a 2015 release. Since its release, Jurassic World broke many box office records, holding a place among the top 10 of the highest grossing films. Besides, helped to give a new direction to the franchise, setting new chapters in the future.
Jurassic World uses the same formula from the original, which structure, is simply like this: mainland to island, a little bit of adventures, the threat appears, seems impossible to make it out, and suddenly, an unexpected help saves the day. The subplot about the brothers, could be unnecessary, but, like the rest of the previous films, kids aren´t exclude in the plot. Positive things about the movie: the concept of the movie, and the Indominus rex (the antagonist) as well, because is like a metaphor of real life enterprises. Seeing again the dinosaurs, it´s why the movie is amazing, and there´s some nostalgia for some references to the original movie (specially the remains of the first park). Human characters could be dopey at some points, with Owen (Pratt) probably, being the most insteresting, due to his relationship with the raptors. The final battle between Rexy (the veteran T-Rex from the original), Blue (one of the raptors) and the I. Rex is epic. It is sad that Rexy is treated as a supporting character (being the logo of the franchise). Her role in this movie, resembles to Godzilla in Godzilla (2014), where the titular character has a few minutes on screen, but in the end, saves the day and gives a triumphal roar. The music of Michael Giacchino, the concept of the movie, and of course...the dinos, is what makes this film enjoyable.
OUTCOME:
It coud be like a "soft remake" of the original, nonetheless, Jurassic World meets expectations , adding some nostalgia from previous movies. It is good to see again the dinosaurs roaming the world, at least, in a park. Recommended.
